Van Gogh’s Ear, 1017 Stuyvesant Ave., Union. Café and restaurant, Van Gogh’s Ear has delicious coffee and it makes several top 10 lists online. Try the Lucky Charms coffee confection for a magically delicious treat.
Melao Café & Creamery, 1425 Irving St., Rahway. While the homemade ice cream is a winner, plenty of Facebook reviews praise the java as “Best. Coffee. Ever.” A relaxing and friendly atmosphere promises you’ll be back for a second cup.
Rock ‘n’ Joe, 20 Prospect St., Westfield. Started as a place for specialty coffees and sandwiches in the 1990s in New Jersey, Rock ‘n’ Joe is now a franchised business going national. It’s still a top spot for coffee, with a wide variety of organic single-origin and Fair Trade-certified coffees as well as organic blends.
